Reverend James Kjorlaug
Rev. James Kjorlaug is an Arkansas native who grew up in the United Methodist Church. He graduated from Duke Divinity School in 2016 and is overjoyed to be serving God with Vilonia United Methodist Church. Throughout his time in ministry he has served congregations from Arkansas to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Rev. James and his wife Krista, their son Henry, and dog Ellie are excited to be in Vilonia. In his free time Rev. James enjoys cycling and rock climbing.
Rhonda Carson began working as Administrative Assistant at Vilonia UMC in January 2014. She had previously served as Financial and Pastor’s Secretary at Immanuel Baptist Church in El Dorado, AR, and as Financial Assistant at Kingsland Baptist Church in Katy, TX. Having grown up in north Louisiana, Rhonda is an LSU and Saints fan but is trying to adjust living in Razorback country.
Rhonda and her late husband, Martin, have three sons and three daughters-in-love: Keith and Dani, Jeremy and Patti; and Jody and Beth. One of Rhonda’s main joys is being a “Nana” and spending time with her two grandchildren, Jonathan and Kelsey. In her “spare” time, she enjoys sewing, quilting and doing crafts of various kinds.
After having moved to this area in 2013, Rhonda now considers the Vilonia/Conway area to be her home. She feels extremely blessed to part of such a loving and caring community of believers.
Clint Johnson has been attending Vilonia United Methodist Church since 2008, started volunteering with youth in 2013 and has been working as Youth Director since spring 2015. He is a native of Central Arkansas, grew up in Wesley United Methodist Church in Conway and is a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas with a BS in Environmental Science and an MS in Biology.
Clint and his wife Megan have two young, rambunctious boys (Mitchell and Cache) that consider Vilonia United Methodist Church their second home. He is blessed that all four of his son’s grandparents attend Vilonia United Methodist Church and loves seeing his extended church family every Sunday. Clint enjoys Creation through hunting, fishing, camping and hiking in his spare time.
Clint is involved with children’s ministry, is a member of United Methodist Volunteers in Mission Disaster Response, and loves mission work. His true passion is spending time learning from youth and helping them grow in their faith.
Scott Maddox, Interim Music Director
Serving as interim director since September 2015, Scott provides great leadership for the worship at Vilonia United Methodist Church. From directing the choir to leading the congregational singing, Scott exudes a passion for worshipping the Lord.
Scott also uses his music talents as a band director for 6-12 grade at Vilonia Public Schools.
Being our pianist since 2010, Jeremy brings a fantastic talent and passion in his playing for the Lord. When not serving the Lord in this capacity, he enjoys being with his wife Patti and two children. He also loves his full time job as Head Coach of the Lady Jackets basketball program for Clinton High School. If he ever has spare time, he spends it fishing or hunting!
